I provide therapy using a wide range of modalities as listed below. I tend towards a psychodynamic approach making use of attachment theory. My objective is to create a warm and empathetic environment whereby self-discovery, healing and growth may take place.
During the therapeutic intervention each case will be assessed and the therapeutic modality chosen accordingly. I have experience and training in the following therapeutic modalities: Attachment Based Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Person Centred Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Transactional Analysis Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, and Trauma/Grief models.
Online services in mental health is a relatively new development whereby a trained professional provides psychological services such as therapy via the internet. Online therapy plays an important role in providing access to everyone without the need to travel or take time off work. I provide online services using the Zoom platform which can be used by anyone with internet access. Please enquire for further information.
As part of my assessment process I am able to conduct a range of clinical assessments and screening tools.
My training and experience has led me to value and practice multicultural therapy which aims to address the concerns of clients whose race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, income, disability status, or other social factor(s) fall outside of the majority or outside the dominant social group. The approach centres on the idea that these factors play a role in how a person relates to others and experiences the world, and then seeks to factor those realities into their treatment.
