ADOLESCENTS
If you have any of the symptoms listed below or if you have noticed these in your adolescent it may be an indication of mental health struggles:
 
  • Self-harming behaviours (cutting)
  • Peer / relational difficulties
  • Abuse of drugs and/or alcohol
  • Changes in school performance (e.g. falling grades)
  • Changes in sleeping and/or eating habits
  • Defying authority, missing school, stealing, or damaging property
  • Excessive complaints of physical problems (e.g. headaches, low energy levels)
  • Frequent outbursts of anger
  • Inability to cope with daily problems and activities
  • Isolating themselves from friends/family
  • Talking about ending their life (talk of suicide)
ADULTS
If you have experienced any of the symptoms listed below it may be an indication that you are facing mental health struggles:
 
  • Abuse of drugs and/or alcohol
  • Dramatic changes in eating or sleeping habits
  • Excessive fear, worry, or anxiety
  • Extremely high and low moods (mood swings)
  • High emotionality (crying easily or excessive anger outbursts)
  • Increasing inability to cope with daily problems and activities
  • Long-lasting sadness or irritability
  • Relational problems / social withdrawal
  • Many unexplained physical complaints / headaches
  • Delusions or hallucinations
  • Low libido
  • Suicidal thoughts.
